Back to the Deserts of Coober Pedy
The South Australian desert was where my journey really began so it was very...
There’s something quite charming about living in a remote town. A lot of inner networks and unwritten rules exist alongside nepotism and yet the outback somehow looks after itself.
For me this lack of rule was very attractive (recent trips have seen this disappear).
Events are not run by government or businesses but by the Community and many roles are filled by passionate volunteers. It’s also one of the only places you can people watch with such variety.
During my time in Coober Pedy I’ve met so many interesting and unique characters. A few of whom i’ve gone out with to make environmental portraits. If you ever get a chance to sneak a look behind the curtain of desert living I highly recommend it.
