About

Forged through self-determination, experimentation and an unflinching work ethic, Dave Laslett has developed and refined a unique style of documentary photography. He has travelled throughout South Australia, including the APY Lands, creating portraits and historical documentation primarily with the First Nations people of Australia.  He has been actively committed to empowering First Nations communities across South Australia, the Northern Territory and Western Australia for over a decade. Dave’s responsive approach has been embraced by community leaders and elders who share his belief in the power of photograph and film to share story, create meaningful skills and future-proof creative self expression.

In the past few years Laslett has been developing his own fine arts practice, a unique blend of site-specific installation, unique lighting techniques and photography. His life however is an extension of his practice, living in isolation, close to the land using only what he needs.
